Thank you for reading.
Ultimate Nerd! Professor Langstrom (After I told him I knew the cost of a kilowatt hour of electricity). (At the time 12 cents).
Good day!
Hello, I’m writing to explain a little more on my activity as of late. A little over six months ago I was at my bottom. You’d think the previous two (26) years I would have encountered the bottom sooner, but I didn’t. August 16, 2021 my life made a direction change to what I hope will be a permanent solution. In the last six months I’ve done a lot of amazing things. This culminated four months ago to landing a dream job with a dream company. I feel I’m being taken seriously and given the freedom to see what works and what doesn’t. Probably for the first time in my life.
I started writing and podcasting. I guess podcasting for me is reading what I wrote. I structure it high level, mid level and source level. It’s a framework into my brainstorm to deliverable process. It’s my way of spreading a message of hope. Maybe you can copy the format and do something better.
Many have read and listened, but few have engaged. To me your engagement would be a simple comment or like. Maybe even subscribing and following to help spread the word. I was hoping for a following to help spread influence. So I got on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
I experimented.
I tried to prompt your following by offering incentives. I gave away Starbucks gift cards. I thought I need to go bigger. So I promised other giveaways to be conducted quarterly and monthly along with weekly ones I’m already engaged in. That’s what the pizza and movie and spa packages are. But even people you give a thanks too, only one responded with a thanks for the coffee.
Read my blog on thoughts of expectations. I’m just sharing the results. You can’t even pay people to follow you on social media.
Check out the Thnks app. It’s pretty cool. Send a coffee to someone through the app and they’ll send one back to you. It’s genius marketing really.
But silence, if you’re reading is also a form of engagement.
I’ve mostly tried to always be honest. Especially when I thought it really mattered. Many of you have encountered that honesty. I hope I’ve made a difference. That’s all I ever wanted to do.
I have a lot of ideas, but not many to help with engagement. Do you think I can flip a car over myself?
Tim, I’m doing fine. Thanks for checking in on me. Did you know I bet you could generate a ton of business with Two Men by coordinating with out of state companies and moving labor to Michigan? Your company could build, rent, and manage. And hopefully you can retire with peace of mind. Network and make it happen.
You can obtain TIFS and other opportunity zone credits. Dollar stores and properties held by DDAs are a good place to start.
How come no one has started an Uber for laundry app? I don’t know how to build an app for this, but I sure would use it.
Anyway, I just want to share my experiences. Maybe make a little money. I ask for consideration of consideration. But I don’t plan on charging. Still, I’m writing and you’re reading/ listening. Did you know a suburban would cost you 75,000 pretax? It’s crazy out there. I’m well educated and compensated fairly to the market. So I’m saving up for a used suburban so I can go down south or go up north once in awhile.
I thought if I do this for a few years once a month, I’ll have a book.
But who wants to read it?
Anyway. That’s all I’m doing. Expressing myself. Everyone knows everything about each other anyway. I’m just having fun with it and hoping to bring a little joy in your life.
In the meantime I’ll keep on preparing those tax returns. And maybe keep writing a little.
If I tagged you, in a post. I’m not trolling you (really). I’m saying hi. You provided some inspiration. I’m just trying to let you know.
If anyone knows Mr. Beast, Brody sure does like him. The show drove me crazy because it seemed wasteful. But he’s managed to help a lot of people. And in reality, he’s making a positive return on his work and he’s having fun doing it. Brody seriously asked for a Mr. Beast themed party. Brody has also asked to start a YouTube channel. So we made a video. I’m not trying to exploit him.
If I tagged you, in a post. I’m not trolling you (really). I’m saying hi. You provided some inspiration. I’m just trying to let you know you’re connected in a way with something I’m saying, and I think you’re cool with me sharing that publicly.
I do appreciate you reading. If I didn’t think there was potential for traction I would’ve stopped spinning my wheels.
Be kind to yourselves and each other.
Thank you so much for reading.
Sean
So sad and sorry about the loss of your beloved Mama. Big warm hugs across too many miles!
I enjoy your writing. Thanks for sharing what's been going on for you. I've had some similar experiences, so it feels connecting to read something that I resonate with.
